Salame

Salame Felino PGI

Product description

The protected designation refers to the village of Felino-located in an area of the Province of Parma just a few kilometres outside the city – where the product has its historical origin. It is an ancient deli meat: if you find yourself visiting Parma’s Baptistery, you can see it represented in one of the interior decorations dedicated to the months and the seasons.

At La Felinese, Salame Felino is made according to tradition: the raw material used consists of the meat of pigs bred and reared in Italy, belonging to the production chain of Parma Ham PDO. The meat is coarsely minced and stuffed into a natural pork casing; it is tied by hand and the minimum maturation time is 30 days.

One can never say no to a slice of salami, always cut at an angle of 45 degrees, the star of appetizers and a symbol of conviviality.
